कौव्वा 

एक बार एक कौव्वा 
पीपल के पेड़ पर  बैठा  था
उसे दूर रेगिस्तान में
मिटटी का एक घड़ा नजर आया
घड़े के गोलाई पर बैठ
उसने स्वच्छ पानी को देखा
लेकिन पी  नहीं सका
उसने छोटे  छोटे शब्दों को  चुन
एक एक कर घड़े में डाला
खून उचल आया
कौए ने जी  भर कर पिया
और  खुश होकर उड़ गया

Barish ab say pehlay bhi kai bar hoi thi
kia is bar meray rangrez nay chunri kachchi rangi thi
ya tan ka hi kehna such keh
rung to us kay honton mein tha!

It had rained often before
Did my dyer badly colored the scarf this time?
Or my torso had told the truth that
The colour was in his lips.

आकाश के दूज के चाँद से

जुड़  गया

तारा

बच्चों  की आँखों की ओर लौटा

केवल हथौड़ा

उसके अकाल्पनिक उद्भव से आहत होकर

कील पर मारने लगा

जो की  इतिहास को तस्वीर बन

अभी भी लटकने वाले हैं

मार्गरेट के मरने पर तो बहुत रो पड़ा

देख मेरे बेटी को

उसके  कोख   में कैंसर से पीड़ित बच्चा हैं

वह केवल तीन महीने की मेहमान हैं

तू   उससे  शादी कर

 

Gentle words

 

When margaret died

u cried a lot.

Look at my daughter

she has a baby with cancer in her womb.

She would die within three months.

U marry her.

The history teacher stammered
Stammering
he swallowed the truths of history.
For him history means
to boast
about one’s own family.
His son
is an expert
in making paper boats.
One day
he broke the bundles of history
and made planes, ships and boats.
The plane soared high
The boats and ships
turned blue and red in water.

Women and Handicapped

I am handicapped
Whether I travel towards north
to the western banks
to the eastern mountains
or to the south
I get a seat in the bus.

Not only in cinema theatre, railway station
Ambalapuzha and Alappuzha
even in ration shop and in polling booth
I ...have a place to stand.
In choice, death
laughter, pyre
and even in court
I am protected.

Still my place is always
with women
among women.
I don't know whether
women too are handicapped.
